How to succeed in reducing the cost of injuries for Business and Industry
Not everyone can go into a company and provide the knowledge of how to decrease work injuries and insurance spend on musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs). It takes qualified individuals to gain the trust of company management, gain the respect of employees, and have the ability to deliver effective programs.
This course will give you the tools, skills and a plan to work with business and industry to provide them the highest quality knowledge to decrease injuries and save money on insurance premiums and musculoskeletal claims for both workers compensation and non-workers compensation.
**Within this course, you will receive a specialized certification recognized by the Kinesio Taping Association specific to occupational health injuries. PLEASE NOTE: THE ONLINE VERSION OF THIS COURSE DOES NOT INCLUDE THE KINESIO TAPING CERTIFICATION AS THAT SECTION MUST BE DONE IN PERSON. THE ON DEMAND PRICE OF THE COURSE HAS BEEN REDUCED TO REFLECT 1 DAY OF TRAINING NOT 2.
Objectives:
1. Students will be able to understand what treatment causes a recordable injury when performed by a healthcare provider and what is considered first aid, as defined by OSHA.
2. Students will be able to create an action plan, based on decreasing musculoskeletal insurance spending, regarding tasks and time allocation for 6 months, 1 year and 2 years when going to a company.
3. Students will be able to understand different possibilities to generate patients and engrain themselves into company injury management and prevention solutions
4. Students will be able to create stretching programs, strengthening programs, wellness plans, to assist in the prevention and treatment of MSD injuries.

Adam has been a physical therapist for 13 years. The last 11 years, he has worked for Bellin Health in the Ergonomics and Rehabilitation Department. In his capacity as Team Facilitator, he manages 21 providers at 44 on-site locations to provide solutions to help control the cost of musculoskeletal injuries. He works performing onsite outpatient physical therapy, early intervention, functional capacity examinations, work conditioning, stretching programs, post-offer employment screens, ergonomic evaluations, job coaching, job description analysis, new hire training, and fitness center orientations. He has also been instrumental in developing and presenting Lunch and Learn programs on such topics as Foot Comfort, Injury Management Best Practices, Back Safety, Why Choose Physical Therapy, Desk Ergonomics, Everything PT has to offer, Exercising over the Age of 50, Stretching at the Workplace, Understanding Knee Pain, Understanding Foot Pain, Safe Lifting Techniques.
Dr. Artel is a Certified Kinesio Taping Practitioner through Kinesio Taping Association International a Certified Ergonomic Evaluation Specialist through Matheson Education and Training Solutions LLC, a Certified Dry Needling through Spinal Manipulation Institute and an Active Release Technique Provider through Active Release.
